This is a Goldie painting of my Wife's great, great, great, great Grandfather, Atama Paparangi a Northland Chief. we have a print of it hanging in our lounge at home too.I love the way that he looks down on his mokupuna (grandhcildren) through out the generations.

Haa, like 'Joezeez' I was also doing some searching on my great great grandfather. I have not made it to Miti Miti yet, but hope to in April 2007, to bring my young sons along. I live in Australia these days.
I too need to find out more, especially now my parents are getting quite old.

My name is Robyn and I am a descendant of Atama's also.
I live in Hawke's Bay, NZ now but originated from the Hokianga. I try to make the journey to Ninety Mile Beach (Ahipara) at least once a year but would like to do so more often.
Next trip I will re-visit Mitimiti & Atama's grave which is an awesome site.

My name is Cherie, I am also a descendent, he was my grand mother's grand father. My nan moved to Australia in the 1920's.
The tiki in the picture, my nan gave it to my father and I used to play with it when I was a child.

Well my Grandmother gave me a picture of Atama when I was quite young and told me he was her GR GR Grandfather my Grandmother has since pastaway I've got this curiosity about all this knocking on my brain my first step, we are all parkea here but I feel I need to take up nan's history. weird ?
